Now 4 years old, this is not a new clip, but it is a good one and worth another viewing. Some beautiful work featuring interesting suitcase and ball techniques from Mr. Stephen Ragatz, formerly Cirque du Soliel performer and collaborator with Michael Moschen. Steven Ragatz Website, there’s a lot of good information for jugglers and manipulators here if you look around including.
(Drew: Apparently envy isn’t good for me, but I couldn’t help feeling that this looks pretty close to my dream studio and workshop. Wow, nice setup.
Street Juggling is a cool, funky, playful video thats got skills and a nice attitude, good filming and editing too. Gotta love that fish eye lens in a skateboard video style. It’s from K8 Malabares juggling shop in Argentina.
The North Korean Mass Games is the largest choreographed gymnastics display in the world, it includes a lot of Rhythmic Gymnastics. An incredible spectacle:
The footage is from the 2004 BBC documentary “A State of Mind” which followed the daily lives of two North Korean schoolgirls as they prepared to perform. heres some more: The BBC trailer and an excerpt from the program which explains whats going on.

2 years ago, I was having a particularly bad day at EJC Lille and had 55 Euro of bad Karma to work off. Miss Frix Singlehandedly managed to clear half of it for me, I reckon I still owe her for that. Last I heard, she’s performing with the fab ayaco previously blogged here.
Another clip of Frix performing on YouTube.
Smiles and hello to all the new Stumblers, Drew
I met Rodrigo from Mexico a few years ago when I was busking in Covent Garden [London]. We formed a small trio; Maxence[France], him and myself. We created a small show and performed it on the street for about week before the cops told us we couldnt use music anymore.
It made me happy to this this clip of him again, performing on James Street in Covent garden. He busts out some proper isolations midway through the video… a real magician, this one. Can anybody translate the last bits of text? I’ve always wondered what he said…
A good 3 ball juggling performance by Jens Sigsgaard at the Vest-Coast festival 2006 in Norway. Features a lot of variation in contemporary/modern techniques and innovative sequencing.
Ken Create - Google Video
Ken Create is a true Rennaisance Man. Not happy to just perfect one craft and then rest on his laurels, Ken has “perfected” Mime, Magic, Juggling and Dance with chilling results. Come on… I think you’ll like it!
I call a 7 day challenge for anyone to come up with something worse. Starting now….
Note sure about the legitimacy of this (too much good stuff!!!), but here’s a 40Min EJC vid from Metlilimout with clips from many of the shows (Renegade, Open stage and Mainstage) featuring some beautiful manipulation and juggling from… well… just about everybody!
It seems negative space is pretty ”in” these days (thank you Stephan Sing!) as you can see it in use with clubs, balls and cigar boxes.
We’ve been waiting ages for some EJC vids to show up (there were tonnes of cameras there.. so we knew it was inevitable) but for the longest time our EJC video and Colin’s EJC video were the only things out there (both focused on contact.. we assumed all the normal jugglers just gave up) But no! Apparently you’ve just been working hard on these things…

And even the bodypopping/silhouette dance routine from the Open Stage, made it in there! I found the silhouette dance wasn’t to my taste, but I’ve seen 2 lots of video footage of it since that both looked fantastic. A rare example of something looking better on screen than IRL. [26.09].
So grab yourself a cup of tea and take 40 minutes off.. this is a good one.

Colin and Ed are now official members and will be posting to the blog.
These two ”new-style” manipulators both became known to us through their activity at contactjuggling.org, as well as being regular visitors to the Hangar workshop in London. Check out their new Bio pages here on the Ministry and check out the video links (if you havent seen them already)
Another performer seemingly inspired by Michael Moschen, Greg Kennedy has been adapting the bouncing techniques from MM’s ”Triangle” using different shapes such as cones, circles and right angles. This performance of Orthogonal [YOUTUBE link] at the 1997 IJA Cascade of Stars features some beautiful and surprising patterns, but personally i would have enjoyed more if he did the robot and played old-school hip-hop instead of Filter:”Hey Man Nice Shot.” But maybe thats just me…
