Quick update:

19 places have been booked. The space requires 15 people to have paid by Monday 20th October, and we’re at 14. one more confirmation needed! :D

I’d like to take this opportunity to remind any of those that have booked to please either pay in full or a deposit, or contact the Katakomben and express a confirmation of attendance and payment upon arrival if possible. Many thanks in advance!

If the full capacity of students is not reached in time, Aragorn will still be teaching a workshop in his unique dance style over the week. However, there will be no Illusion contact juggling.

See many of you soon! :D

Want: Toroflux!

Tuesday, September 14th, 2010

YouTube Preview ImageFlowtoys put together this cute video showing a Toroflux in action, including a demo by Isaac Blackwood combining a Toroflux with 1 ball contact juggling – Supergood.

Designed by Jochen Valett the Toroflux is “a mesmerizing kinetic sculpture and an interactive “flow toy” that’s like a 4th dimensional slinky.” Sweet, I must have watched this video about 100 times in the last 2 weeks, we’re starting the Christmas list early at MoM Headquarters.

From Youtube:

Two pairie-boy contact jugglers reunite in Vancouver to produce their obligatory first contact juggling video; complete with experimental isolations, weird body rolling, multiball, bloopers and… Wildlife!

Lovely stuff from the west coast of Canada.  I think next time they invite me out for a day of shooting video, I’ll join them (instead of sitting on my computer all day)
120mm Acrylics are HUGE!!
Cubes can be rotated!!!

Very nice use of a book in this club act. Nice manipulations of the clubs and some super nice juggling also. I shouldn’t say it, but I wanna steal ideas from this. That makes it WIN.

This is amazing. I didn’t know this existed before now, and now that I do know, I want to learn it. Why don’t people do these sorts of performances at juggling conventions? I’d pay to see those red knuckles afterwards.

Suffice to say, this is absolutely awesome. This was also found by Lewie West’s favourates. Seriously, why isn’t he a blogger on MoM?

Performed and choreographed by Suzanne Cleary & Peter Harding
Film by Jonny Reed
Music: Yolanda Be Cool & D Cup ft. Cleary & Harding

Friday Fun : mass youtube appreciation

Friday, September 10th, 2010

A Reddit User posted this:

My 8 yr old made his 1st ever youtube video and checks for views non stop he has 2.

So my 8 year old decided to make his 1st ever youtube video and upload it all by himself he checks it constantly hoping to get views and comments. He has 4 views which are all him i was hoping some super awesome redditors would view his How to Build a Lego Snow Trooper Mini Figure and make his day. He’d probably crap himself if he had 200 views.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SD89iqpwPXM

Check the video comments. It is going nuts right now with a flood of appreciation from all over the world. 10 new comments since i started writing this post. Youtube has capped the views at 306 for the day (a weird glitch, counter to potential spam-bots since all the views come from reddit) but there are 5,000 + words of praise for this young youtuber since it was posted a few days ago.

i saw this guy for the first time at ejc in spain then again in finland this year. i could watch him for hours, he has some many strange body throw and chest tipping variations that are so pleasing to watch and try to figure out what’s happening. also i love how chill and un-assuming his juggling is. he is really in his own word and it beautiful to see.

the link i posted is his latest video and it has some pears or genius in it! he has a bunch more videos posted that i highly recommend checking out.

wear helmets!

Basically, you need more practise. You might think you are good at something, but you should watch this video and realise that actually, you need more practise.
