Cute new vid from the french hoop isolationist Furet. What are we calling these shapes now?

After moving to a new area of Paris I decided to make a video out of it, using some of my stuff and research around my excentric circles.

Après un déménagement dans un nouveau quartier de Paris, j’ai voulu que cela soit un point de départ pour une nouvelle vidéo, prétexte pour partager quelques unes de mes recherches avec mes cercles excentriques.

Super Hooping Event, UK – SWHoop 2 – Next weekend

If you’re in UK or Europe and into hooping there’s an event next weekend in Bristol, UK, the South West Hoop Conference, which is well worth checking out.

MoM dropped into part one today, and here’s our mini review. It was fab.

Atmosphere – Really friendly and a lot of fun.
Teaching – Super good, top quality international teachers.
Food – Mmmmmm and lots of it included in the ticket price.
Tea – Free and brewed properly (This get’s our vote).

We found out that there are some tickets still available for the second weekend, If you’re into hoop, it’s highly recommended, not cheap, but the money goes towards paying for excellent hoop teachers, which is always worth it in the long run.
Plus Ed is teaching a Waving (Wiggly Ed Dance) workshop next weekend and Mrs MoM is teaching a solo Charleston workshop next Sunday.

Piryokopi – 2011 Hoop Isolation Routine

In August 2011, Ryan Mellors, Pich, Pilolip and Okotanpe met together at the ‘Maison Des Jonglages” in Paris to try and solve a problem: contact juggling and manipulation performances often have a small visual effect, ideal for video but very difficult to play to a large stage or stadium venue. We wanted to create material which communicated large graphical effects to a distant crowd, and we developed 3 short ‘graphic manipulation’ choreographies which we are excited to be sharing with you now.

We feel this is a good first step in our ongoing collaboration.

“About Manipulation” is a project wanted, created and directed by Moon and Ministry of Manipulation. We’ve tought there a lot of videos with people playing, and so few videos with people talking about their experiences and ideas in contact juggling. So we’ve tried to show you what’s behind a contact juggler, and what he lives with this amazing art.

Ejc was the perfect moment to do this full length (19 mins.) movie; we are sorry because there were so much great contact jugglers we’ve missed at Ejc (Okotanpe, Richard Hartnell, Kyle Johnson..just some big names)..but as you probably know weather was terrible and time wasn’t so much. We’ve chosen some interesting, new and old, personalities in contact juggling world, and ask them what’s contact juggling, how’s changing and where is going. So, this is a gift for the contact juggling community and for the new wave of contact jugglers. Hope you’ll like it…Please feel free to share it wherever you want. Big thanks to Stefano Ricci and Federico Tasso for the patience and help.

My entire world consists of this woman and she keeps rolling around inside of me. Weird. I definitely haven’t had any dreams like that. I feel like a hamster ball… Like I’m the hamster ball, and the woman is the hamster. But we’re not on a journey, we’re just standing there. Weird. Anyway.
