Hi everybody :)
after acrylic party in bruxelles, I’ve studied a little these “Moogeng”. They are acrylic made S sticks, quite similar to Buugeng.
this is a little vid of me training with them. Sorry if I’m not so clean, but they very hard to use in my opinion and I haven’t studied them so much.
hope you like it :)

“Intrinsic Self”- A Short Documentary

YouTube Preview Image

This is a nicely put together small documentary that I would like to see as a large one on object manipulation in general. It features interviews with a few spinners and jugglers from the San Francisco Bay Area of California,  on their favorite subject of fire and object manipulation.

I especially like Jordan’s realization about his life. : )

Buugeng – Dai @ Flow Temple (&Moschen)

The recent commercial availability of Buugeng (curved staffs) has lead to an explosion of new performances and styles with this unique prop. (above performer: Dai)
The first time I had seen this kind of manipulation was in “Michael Moshen, In Motion” (video of his act below) but a google seach on “buugeng” reveals almost no history? No wikipedia page? I’m curious about the roots of this discipline, anyone who knows anything more should respond in the comments.

Yeah so it’s Christmas again. I made a video. I asked Ryan and Drew if I could post it, and Ryan said I could so I did. It’s me, dancing about like a loon, with a staff. Done. It’s okay. I liked the club one better but Ryan said I should post this one. So here it is, an early Christmas present. Yup.

I can’t really go on about how awesome it is but it’s better than not bad.

Interesting adaption of Michael Karas’s tinkertoy juggling prop, by a Japanese lad Hidenori Yukawa, youtube user: SHENNMU. I like that he does it so cleanly and that clearly it’s stick manipulation, as well as he gets up to five going in some interesting patterns. Good job.

Quality 3 stick routine, with quality filming and editing. Performed by Elena Shapoval. Directed by Taras Pozdnyakov. Enjoy!
Can anyone remind me who pioneered this kind of stick manipulation?

Check out Taras’s youtube channel for some really top notch contemporary Russian circus including:
Dirty mary Balls and plait?![you'll see] manipulation/juggling/dance, performed by Masha Toryanik. Directed by Taras Pozdnyakov. Every one of them are worthy of a blog post on their own!
Thanks to Kyle for the link.

MCP staff – Alternative Audio for ‘Cool Bits’

Probably the best contact staff video in the world!!?! (Audio slightly NSFW).
MCP Meghan – Contact staff rockstar, prolific video maker and occasional MoM Guest blogger, has rolled out a LOT of new staff tutorials free online.
And this video… The skills are super high, but somehow it seems like the audio got a bit muddled in the editing. LOVE IT!
Here’s the original Thanks Meg.
If you love Meg as much as we do, you can now buy the t-shirt!
