EJC Live streaming video

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

We’ve been rather quiet about the European Juggling Convention this year because we’re sad not to be at our favorite juggling and manipulation festival. This year, it has a live stream , by Nathan Rae EJC live: Where the European Juggling Convention comes to you.
For me it’s generally stuttering too much to be watchable, pausing every 3 seconds to buffer :( But I’ll keep trying.
Last night featured Kelvin doing his thing with 1 and 2 acrylics in the open stage, which was amazing.

If there’s nothing live at the moment, there are a bunch of recorded highlights you can watch, my favorite is:

Be sure to stay to the end of the clip for a great ending!
[Edit: updated with Youtube link, cos ustream doesn't work so well: thanks Divus]

Yowsa! This was the first guy I ever saw do Fei-Cha in an old Internet Video called “Janitors”. In the interim he appears to have gone to Circus School in Montreal and has gotten some pretty sweet tricks nailed in his act. He also does slick combined hat manipulation and has a cute goofy ending. Win.

i found this video via Lewie Wests’ favourates. Why isn’t he a blogger yet anyway?

Hi everybody :)
after acrylic party in bruxelles, I’ve studied a little these “Moogeng”. They are acrylic made S sticks, quite similar to Buugeng.
this is a little vid of me training with them. Sorry if I’m not so clean, but they very hard to use in my opinion and I haven’t studied them so much.
hope you like it :)

“Intrinsic Self”- A Short Documentary

YouTube Preview Image

This is a nicely put together small documentary that I would like to see as a large one on object manipulation in general. It features interviews with a few spinners and jugglers from the San Francisco Bay Area of California,  on their favorite subject of fire and object manipulation.

I especially like Jordan’s realization about his life. : )

Buugeng – Dai @ Flow Temple (&Moschen)

The recent commercial availability of Buugeng (curved staffs) has lead to an explosion of new performances and styles with this unique prop. (above performer: Dai)
The first time I had seen this kind of manipulation was in “Michael Moshen, In Motion” (video of his act below) but a google seach on “buugeng” reveals almost no history? No wikipedia page? I’m curious about the roots of this discipline, anyone who knows anything more should respond in the comments.
