Imagine my excitement this morning when I see a new release clip of a duet from two of my favorite contact jugglers up on Youtube this morning.
Jea9 and Mr. Om have been working hard over the winter in their juggling labs in Australia to put together this magical little show.

Agreed! She has opened up many new areas to explore in contact/body movement. I feel fortunate to have had the chance to train with her. A true artist!

boy it is amazing. makes me jealous.
there is still something about this that I am not excited about. Technically it is brilliant. I fear that Cirque du Soleil has ruined circus after catapulting it into beautiful theatricality combined with amazing skill.
I don’t get any real sense of who they are. It is a brilliantly skillful execution. the music is great and fits with their movements, and perfectly executed smooth interactions. but it doesn’t move me, and It is so good, I think it really should.
I don’t mean this as a criticism of the show, but I hope that they can add more dimensions to this sort of work. it cries out for that. Of course that will make me even MORE jealous!
And wha I am asking for with them is the thing that is hardest for me to get to as well.

First off… Tony; from what i’ve seen (wink wink) you DO communicate who you are on stage. When I watch your work, I really feel like you are giving your show as a gift to the audience. Its the best; mix that with undeniable technical mastery and you have an incredible combination. I am humbled that you are here to comment on our blog and be a part of this community. Go Tony Duncan.
Back to Jea9 and Om, I agree with you. The show still feels closed to the audience; as if we are getting to see a glimpse into an intimate world (where we don’t entirely understand what is going on or even IF we are supposed to be watching.)
